Eli -- I wonder whether anyone replied to your comment. You've asked some questions regarding Heavenly Father's origins, Heavenly Mother, and the Only Begotten. I recommend a few things for you to study, since you are Jewish. In Kaballah, learn a bit about Metatron. Then read the text of the Pearl of Great Price, the Book of Moses, and the Book of Abraham. That will give you some footing. You need to know that we Mormons know few details about Heavenly Father's origins or whether there are other gods. The idea that God was at some point just like us was formulating in the mind of Joseph Smith just before his martyrdom, and he mentioned it, but it was never fully expounded upon. Our idea is that God is eternal. The Book of Abraham will give you an idea of our pre-mortal existence, where God was the Father of our spirits. His design is to make us beings like unto Himself, with godlike characteristics. To learn about that, click here. Hope this helps.

Correct spelling: Pocatello (o at the end instead of an a) and Uruguay (second vowel is a u not an a). I am proud to have served as a missionary under Richard G. Scott in Argentina (albeit only 4 days, before he was released to go home).

Thank you for your inspiring comment, President. I'll be contacting you by email to see when we might be able to connect further, and have you speak with our President as well. I've forwarded this as well to our writer and site Editor. Our desire is to provide accurate, quality content about our faith, history, lives, and heritage, online, so that honest seekers can learn the truth from us, rather than from those who may inadvertently or intentionally dilute or distort it or define it differently. Will be in touch, and God bless.

Message to D White - Reference to "The Children Clung to Us" Thank you for posting this story on the Mormon History website. I currently serve as the first District President of the Kabul Afghanistan Military District. I reside in Kabul, Afghanistan. I have been serving in Afghanistan since February 2006. There are currently over 600 members serving in Afghanistan. The Church has organized five military branches and 22 service member groups throughout the country. I would be glad to share more history of the Church in Afghanistan.
